Welcome to our very favourite week of the year—Chocolate Week! We’re celebrating by offering our loyal 1001 fans some creative ways to enjoy chocolate. And, of course, how to remove stains from carpet if you go a bit overboard. Nothing ruins a moment of chocolatey indulgence like spotting a chocolate stain, but 1001 Carpet Cleaner has your back!

How to Get Hot Chocolate From Your Carpet

We love a fancy hot chocolate, especially now that the weather has cooled down. Everyone has their own favourite way of making it, such as using powder or spread, using hot water, milk or milk substitutes! We love to add whipped cream and chocolate shavings on top for the ultimate treat!

But if you’re prone to knocking over mugs, then here’s what you need to know! Firstly, if you’ve spilt chocolate shavings on the floor, be very careful not to smush them into the carpet when picking up or hoovering up the pieces. Next, you’ll want to make sure you deal with the cocoa right away, especially if your recipe uses milk.

From there, to remove stains from the carpet, simply:

  1. Blot the area with kitchen towel to absorb any excess liquid.
  2. Apply 1001 Carpet Stain Remover and wait for a maximum of 5 minutes.
  3. Massage the product into the stained area.
  4. Remove excess liquid with a dry cloth.
  5. Leave the area to dry, then vacuum.

How to Get Chocolate Fondue Stains Out of Your Carpet

Is there anything quite as indulgent as a chocolate fondue? Dipping fresh fruit or marshmallows in liquid chocolate is a delicious way to spend the night in with someone special. Until you realise there are chocolate stains on clothing, upholstery and carpet!

When cleaning chocolate out of clothing, a secret weapon is treating the stain first with dishwashing soap! It will cut the grease and deal with most of the stain, but just make sure you wash your clothing on cold. It may require more fabric pretreatment!

If chocolate has made its way onto your upholstery, here’s how to clean it with 1001 carpet cleaner:

  1. Blot the area with a kitchen towel to absorb any excess liquid.
  2. Apply 1001 Carpet Stain Remover and wait for a maximum of 5 minutes.
  3. Massage the product into the stained area.
  4. Remove excess liquid with a dry cloth.
  5. Leave the area to dry, then vacuum.
