It’s great that your child knows to come find you if they have a cut. But, if they’re wandering through the house looking for mum, they may be tracking blood all over your carpets – not so great. Blood is a notoriously tricky stain to deal with when it comes to fabric, especially if it has already soaked in and dried. If you’re dealing with blood stains on your carpet or upholstery, here’s how you can use 1001 to remove it easily. That is, after putting plasters on knees, of course!

How to remove fresh blood from carpet

  1. First, soak up the extra liquid with a piece of kitchen roll.
  2. Spray the affected area with 1001 Trouble Shooter and wait 5 minutes.
  3. Use a colour-fast cloth to massage the Trouble Shooter into the stain.
  4. Remove excess liquid with a dry cloth and let dry.
  5. Repeat if necessary
  6. Vacuum area once stain is gone and your carpet has dried.

How to clean a dried blood stain from your carpet

Dried stains can make us groan, but we have a few tricks up our sleeves when it comes to making them disappear. If you’ve discovered some already-dried blood stains on your carpet, you will still be able to remove them from your carpet by following these steps:

  1. First, blot the stain with cold water
  2. Spray the affected area with 1001 Trouble Shooter and wait 5 minutes.
  3. Use a colour-fast cloth to massage the Trouble Shooter into the stain.
  4. Remove excess liquid with a dry cloth and let dry.
  5. Repeat if necessary
  6. Vacuum area once stain is gone and your carpet has dried.
