Down

If you’re like many families in lockdown, you need to know how to clean carpet after pizza night. Maybe you’ve been supporting local businesses with ordering or making your own. Either way, there are about as many saucy, greasy reasons to read these carpet cleaning tips as there are toppings!

How to Clean Carpet After Pizza Night

When yeast and flour started disappearing off the shelves last year, bread baking seemed like the culprit. And sure, many of us started a complicated relationship with a sourdough starter. But others got busy making something else: pizza.

And why not? Our kids are stuck at home and bored without their friends. Homemade pizza is the perfect treat that also gives them hands-on cooking practice. But unfortunately, pizza does cause a lot of mess… Seeing sauce stains or groaning about grease? Here’s how to clean carpet after pizza night!

How to Clean Carpet or Couches with Grease Stains

We like to pretend we can’t see how much grease is on our pizzas. Maybe we dab at it with kitchen roll. But we can’t ignore the stains it causes! (Especially if we’ve relaxed the ‘no eating in front of the telly’ rule!)

If you spot a grease stain on your carpet or your upholstered couch, don’t panic. Just follow these steps:

  1. Blot the area with kitchen towel to absorb any excess liquid.
  2. Apply 1001 Carpet Stain Remover and wait for a maximum of 5 minutes.
  3. Massage the product into the stained area.
  4. Remove excess liquid with a dry cloth.
  5. Leave the area to dry, then vacuum.

Say Good-bye to Sauce Stains

Grease stains may sneak up on you, but not so with sauce! Tomato sauce seems to get everywhere. And that’s before you think about the extra hot sauce some people are obsessed with splashing on top of their pizza. If you need to know how to clean carpet after a sauce spill of any kind, you’re in luck. Just follow these easy steps!

Pizza Smell Getting Stale?

Maybe you’ve managed to pull off pizza night without any carpet stains. Congrats! But, there’s one thing you might be forgetting. That’s right: pizza smell. It’s amazing when your pizza is piping hot. Less so a few hours later. (Or, when you’re trying to sneak a piece after the kids go to bed.) Mum’s the word when you use 1001 Carpet Fresh, however!

  1. Shake the can well.
  2. Hold it upside down, about 40cm from your carpet, rug, or upholstery.
  3. Press the nozzle and sweep the can from side to side for a thin, even covering of foam.
  4. Enjoy the fresh scent for hours!
