We’re pretty proud that Carpet Fresh is Britain’s favourite carpet freshener* for the second year in a row. And while we aren’t allowed to go on a UK road trip quite yet, we are already thinking about long car rides in our future. If you’re feeling similarly inspired, you might be interested to learn that you can use Carpet Fresh and Carpet Stain Remover in your car.
It’s easy! Here, we’ll list some of the stains and smells you might have in your car, and how to treat them. All we recommend is that you first perform a patch test an inconspicuous area.
Tackling Lingering Smells with Carpet Fresh
Whether you use 1001 Carpet Care products on carpets, rugs, or car seats, they effectively lift stains from deep within fibres. Their unique polymer formulations also help protect these soft surfaces from future staining!
But, smells can linger. Particularly in an enclosed space like your car. That’s when it’s Carpet Fresh’s time to shine!
Each Carpet Fresh scent is formulated to do two things. Firstly, their quick-drying foam penetrates deep down into your carpet fibres, instantly neutralising trapped odours. Secondly, no matter what your favourite scent, you can rest assured that you’ll enjoy hours of freshness. That means that even if you’re just driving out to do a grocery shop, you can be transported on a tropical trip with a spritz of Carpet Fresh Pink Grapefruit and Exotic Flowers!
Getting Rid of Food Stains in the Foot Well
When you first bought your car, did you swear up and down that there would be no eating in the vehicle? That sort of ‘no food’ rule is familiar to many of us. (As are the stains seen immediately after we let that rule slide.) Whether it was a piping hot cup of coffee that took a tumble or your child’s snack, food tends to go flying with velocity in the car. Luckily, 1001 has the perfect solution to stains in the upholstered footwells of your car. Here’s how:
- Blot away any excess liquid with a clean, dry cloth.
- Spray the area with 1001 Carpet Stain Remover.
- Use a colour-fast cloth to massage the product into the stain, then use a dry cloth to remove any excess liquid.
- Vacuum the footwells.
- Keep the car smelling clean and fresh with one of our 1001 Carpet Fresheners.
Cleaning Car Sick From Car Seats
Some people can happily read books while riding in a car over bumpy roads. And others get disastrously ill even while riding over the smoothest pavement. Candied ginger only goes so far as a remedy (we’ve tried!) so if someone has been sick on the car seats, here’s how to clean it up.
- Remove all solid residue from the surface of the car seat. Then blot the stain with kitchen towel to absorb any excess liquid.
- Apply 1001 Carpet Stain Remover. and wait for a maximum of 5 minutes.
- Massage the product into the stained area.
- Remove excess liquid with a dry cloth.
- Leave the area to dry, then vacuum.
- Finish off with a spray of your favourite 1001 Carpet Fresh.
Dealing with Pet Accidents in the Boot
Our animal friends can either treat car rides with a lot of enthusiasm or extreme distress. Somehow, how temperaments can result in a mess you’d rather not have in the boot of your car. Urine and faeces can leave lingering smells, so it’s best to clean them thoroughly right away.
- Remove all solid residue from the surface of the car seat. Then blot the stain with kitchen towel to absorb any excess liquid.
- Apply 1001 Pet Stain Remover and wait for a maximum of 5 minutes.
- Massage the product into the stained area.
- Remove excess liquid with a dry cloth.
